Three Goddesses That Will Show You How To Rise Into Your Dark Feminine Power

What Is Dark Feminine Energy

Dark feminine energy has become a viral trend on social media. That’s partly because we collectively are having a spiritual awakening and partly because more women and people with strong feminine energy are coming into their power.

Feminine rage is raging. Boundaries are being set. And more of us are no longer taking the patriarchal B.S. anymore.

The patriarchy is slowly dying(although it’s holding on for dear life), and a new age is beginning to emerge. As we come into this time of power to the people, community, and innovation, you may find the dark feminine rising within you.

Don’t let the “dark” part fool you. There is nothing sinister about it. This is not negative or evil in any way but rather a transmutation of darkness into power. Your power!

And three goddesses know all about Divine dark feminine energy. They can help guide you through this awakening so you can understand what’s happening, rise into your power, and make this world a better place for ALL.

What Is Dark Feminine Energy

In a way, dark feminine energy is a form of transmutation. Taking the areas of weakness and turning them into strength. A person with a strong dark feminine energy gives a “unfuckwithable” air about them. These people never let people walk all over them. They never dull their shine.

It’s a mysterious energy and is sometimes considered the shadow side of feminine energy. However, that can be misleading. The thing that makes it “shadowy” is its natural rebellion to how you should be based on social and patriarchal standards.

For a woman, to put your needs and desires before others is counter-cultural. Many women do this to the point that they forget how to put themselves first. How many moms do you know who feel guilty for leaving their kids with a sitter and taking an afternoon for themselves?

For a man, embracing your dark feminine can be the first step to embracing your whole self. Socially, in the Western world, feminine energy of any type is looked down on as if a man is less of a man because he has feminine characteristics. In truth, you can’t gain the full power and potential of your masculine energy without your feminine energy. These two are a beautiful balancing act. Reliant on each other to thrive. The rebellious nature of the dark feminine can help you tap into all your power.

For everyone, especially queer, marginalized, and gender-diverse people, dark feminine energy can help you to embrace your authenticity. All the things that make you, you. And to be you with confidence and even radiance. Because when who you are is naturally outside of the patriarchal white supremacist system we live within, to be you is an act of rebellion. And no goddess embodies that more than the Hindu Goddess Kali Ma.

Kali Ma: Feminine Rage & Rebellion

Dark Feminine Energy Feminine Rage

With her blue-black skin, wild hair, bare breasts, and a skirt made out of arms. Kali Ma is a goddess that makes the strongest God or demon run for the hills. She is the goddess of death and embodies destruction to make way for creation.

For something to be born anew, the old has to die first. Like the tower card in the traditional Tarot deck, Kali Ma is the destroyer of things with her feminine rage, but it’s not destruction for destruction's sake. She destroys to allow something new to be built in its place.

When you have a dark feminine awakening, rage and rebellion are often your first stops on the empowerment train.

Kali Ma shows you how to use that rage for good. For the betterment of all. She also shows you how to be wholly and truly yourself—encouraging you to show up in the world exactly as you are and not bend your truth for anyone. Because best believe sticking your tongue out, having dark skin, wild hair, and your tits out was not very demure then either. But that was her. She represents her truth and shows that is how she shows up in the world.

So, if you’re finding you have a new fire of feminine rage in your belly and you're being called to rebel against everything you've been taught to be, follow Kali Ma’s example. Shave your head if you want. Protest for human rights!

Use that rage to do something powerful towards positive change in the world and let your wild free! Just be ready to set some firm boundaries because the world will often push back harder when you claim your power.

Medusa: Boundaries of The Dark Feminine

Dark Feminine Rising

While the original mythology does not consider Medusa a goddess, Medusa is a goddess to many, especially women who’ve experienced trauma at the hands of men.

Athena supposedly cursed her to turn anyone to stone if they gazed upon her. But there is some debate in the spiritual community about this. Some who work with her claim she transmuted her trauma into her power, which creates the ultimate boundary.

Medusa is so unfuckwithable that she can literally turn people to stone. Cross one of her boundaries, and bam! You’re marble.

When you have a dark feminine awakening, the call for setting boundaries or cutting toxic people out of your life can become pretty loud. The people who need boundaries in place most are often the people who ignore them the most. With some friends and family, you can tell them that you are no longer willing to do free gourmet birthday cakes anymore. If they want one of your delicious masterpieces, they are going to have to pay for the ingredients. Reasonable boundary, right?

But there will always be that person who gaslights you or tells you that you're being selfish for not doing this little thing for your loved ones. This is where Medusa level boundary setting comes in.

Your boundary is stone. Your resolve is as hard as a rock, and the guilt or manipulation of others will not sway you.

Dark feminine energy tells you it’s okay to be “selfish.” Making yourself, your time, money, and energy as much of a priority and as valuable as everyone else's is not selfish. Those who want to take advantage of your kindness are the selfish ones.

It’s hard to start setting boundaries. You often feel like the bad guy. Embracing your dark feminine and Medusa's iconic boundary setting will help you get over the fear of being the villain really fast because the fact of the matter is that it's okay to be the villain in someone else's story. They’ll get over it.

The Morrigan: Divine Dark Feminine Transmutation

Divine Dark Feminine Transmutation

The Morrigan is the Celtic Goddes of Death, Creation, Fate, and Witchcraft and a great embodiment of Divine dark feminine transmutation. Due to her witchy and magical nature, The Morrigan encourages you to follow your intuition, something women are usually encouraged away from. How often have you gaslite yourself out of your own intuition and then regretted it as soon as it was proven right? She encourages you to honor that knowing.

Like a true shape-shifter, she is many things! She is a goddess, a faery, and a green witch. Not only is she an icon of transformation, but she also takes it a step further and transmutes energy, which is why she is the goddess of death and creation. Two things that are often considered enemies of one another, but in truth, they depend on each other.

Death holds as much value as creation. Death transmutes into life. When the rat dies, it feeds the growth of life. Mushrooms sprout, trees are nourished, and life is fed in return.

Divine dark feminine transmutation takes the things that no longer serve us and turns them into something new. It’s about taking ownership of the darkness and turning it into light. The Morrigan shows you that your darkness isn’t something to be feared — That it is a source of power within you, and it can be transmuted into something more. Your shadows and trauma can be healed and turned into your greatest strength as long as you’re brave enough to face and transmute them.

Obviously, these Goddesses are so much more than what can be written about them in a blog post. But goddesses like them are great examples to look at as your dark feminine rises. And between Kali Ma’s power to destruction, Medusa's power of boundaries, and The Morrigan's dark feminine transmutation power, you can take your dark feminine awakening and use it for the good of all.
